Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the record label Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise from music bloggers and the press. The singer has recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by Oasis. Oasis in a commercial for Christmas by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. The singer gained further attention from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her the possibilities it offered. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music for a love rather as a career. She began writing lyrics of her own. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen as well as Bjork as being her influences. Her mom encouraged her to play her music in front of the public, but not so that she could gain fame but rather to help others realize that they matter and the good they do for the world. She was suggested by her mother to be able to perform her music publicly in order in order to make people aware of their own importance and how they could impact the world. It was unknown to her family members until she was fourteen. Aurora was not a goal. As she says, she simply enjoys writing songs. According to her, she believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
